One step closer to paradise

Antique Castle consisting of 7 apartments in Beautiful Petralia

The Castle of Borgo Saccù is several hundred years old, but was renovated just a few years ago. It is 600 m2 large, distributed over seven apartments with kitchen/living room with brick fireplaces, old stone arches, etc. Each apartment has one to two bedrooms and bathroom.

Price: 750,000 euros.

The castle is built around a pretty, paved courtyard – a so-called Baglio (traditional, Sicilian farm). Behind the castle is an unfinished pool of 12x6 m and a paved area where there is a little “tavernina”/bar in connected to the pool. The garden is 800 m2.

The restoration is very well carried out, with fine materials and many handcrafted details. The original “castle feeling” is very well maintained.

The castle is situated in a small “mini village” with a few other houses. In total, around 15-20 people live in the village. Also the other houses are built in old stone style.

The town of Petralia is a couple of kilometers away. There are two Petralia – Petralia Sottana (lower Petralia) and Petralia Soprana (upper Petralia). Both Petralia’s are beautiful, small towns with fine restaurants, bars, etc. But especially, Petralia Soprana is an exceptionally beautiful and genuine old Sicilian mountain town.

About Petralia

Petralia ,set in the Madonie National Park, was one of the last Cities to get truly connected to the rest of the Island. In consequence, the City is still very much as it was originally built, retaining its original Architecture and appearance and has maintained its traditions and culture. It is a little fairytale town and very welcoming to strangers. The houses are all built of stone and there are lots of balconies, flowers and small squares with fountains – a real piece of Sicilian history.

Here you will spend time in peace and tranquility You can buy locally produced products such as Goats Cheese, Sausages, Olive Oil, wild Boar etc. over the counter and the storekeeper will wrap them in neat, paper parcels for you to take away. Prices tend to be lower than the rest of the Island, so going out to dinner is very affordable in one of the many excellent.local restaurants – beware however as the food is delicious and comes in very large portions!

The City is becoming known as a Cultural Centre, where many International Cultural Events take place and people from near and far participate.
