A medieval property with many possibilities. It could be used as a spacious, single accommodation, or be logically converted into more apartments.
- Medieval building
- Good structural condition
- Interesting floor layout
- Could be converted into separate accommodations
- Beautiful views
- Located in the oldest parts of town
- Parking fairly easy to find
Entering the property, you pass through a small courtyard, that would be astonishing furnished, lighted and flowered. The first part of the house has been partially renovated, and could be used as a separate apartment or connected to the rest of the property. There is a working bathroom, a room prepared for kitchen and a room of approximately 25 sq m.
Half a stair up there are three rooms with antique flooring and three balconies. On the top floor two rooms, also these with antique floors plus a kitchen. This floor has two balconies with beautiful views over old town Caccamo, the forest and surrounding mountains.
Through an internal staircase, but also with two separate entrances, there is a floor with stone vaults, original stone floors and wooden beams. The floor has got windows and three door openings and there is enough light to turn this into living area – again as a separate apartment or connected to the rest of the property.
The house structure is fine and the roof was fixed for a couple of years ago. The floors will need to be leveled, but the original tiles can be reused. The external walls have been plastered, but can be brought back to stone. All-in-all a very interesting property with great potential.
The medieval town of Caccamo was officially founded in 1093, with the inauguration of the impressive castle that today serves as a museum. It is located in the mountains, some 10 kilometers from the Tyrrhenian coast and the larger town of Termini Imerese. Beneath its old feet, the Rosamarina lake offers a splendid contrast to the surrounding mountains.
The town is built on a mountain top in fabulous nature and a true treasure for lovers of medieval architecture. For instance, this small town (9.000 inhabitants), holds 39 churches. Except from the historical buildings, the town is reputable for its excellent meat. Every year here is celebrated a Festa della Salsiccia.
