This townhouse is so charming! It has belonged to a Sicilian artist who really has put his soul into this property. Original features and quirky details all over the house.
It has three floors in total. Downstairs is the old kitchen – note the visible rock the house is built on in the back of the kitchen. Here we have high ceilings, which has allowed for the wooden sleeping loft you find half a stair up. On the middle floor are two rooms and a bathroom with a shower. Upstairs, a large room with high ceilings and a spacious terrace.
From the terrace, you have a view over the sea and one of the oldest churches in Termini Imerese – Sant’Orsola, where the mummified father Impallaria, who died in 1699, is still possible to see. The story tells that the venerable father is still walking the area during the nights to collect food for the poor. Every year on the 8th of February, a procession is going there to change his slippers, which are supposed to be worn out every year from his night walks.
The property is in good living condition. Some updating might be desirable, and maybe also a second bathroom. But overall, it is perfectly possible to live in the property just as it is.
The location is central, and you find parking a couple of minutes’ walk from the property.
