Property Description
To describe this property, it is a must to start with the location. Just by the beautiful lake of Caccamo, in this very restricted location. You cannot get a permit to build in the national parks but this location happens to be just outside the protected area, so its very unlikely that you will ever get new neighbors. The water level in the lake is lower in the summer and higher in the winter, but in wintertime, the land border is only 20 meters from the lake. The views are breathtaking; the lake, the mountains…
The land that belongs to the property is around 2 hectares (almost five acres), with very well-maintained olives and a variety of other fruit trees. The olive grove is commercially run and provides an income.
The house is around 70 sqm (754 sqft) and in poor condition. It will take an effort and investment to get it in the order it deserves to be – but the location makes it all worthwhile. You can extend the living area to 200 square meters.
There is electricity at the land border, and for water, there are a couple of solutions available. A bit further ahead, there is a water consortium possible to connect to. There is also a natural water source a little bit ahead. In addition, there is a well on the property.
On a bumpy countryside road, we are some 10-15 minutes’ drive from the medieval town of Caccamo. It takes around 15 minutes (partly bumpy, partly good) to go to the coastal town of Trabia, and more or less the same distance from San Nicola l’Arena, which also offers a very nice small-boat marina. The area between Trabia and San Nicola l’Arena has several sandy beaches to offer. We are about an hour from the airport in Palermo.
