This very centrally located palazzo was built in the 13th century and still belongs to the same family that once built it – the Marsala family. It is located in one of the most important streets, Via Vittorio Amedeo, named after the fact that king Vittorio Amedeo II choose to live in this very palace during his stay in Termini Imerese. Here we still find features dating back as far as the 16th century.

The apartment is 527 sqm (5,673 sqft). Here we find frescoes dating back to 1799 and floors from the same period in time. In addition here are terraces, vaults, and a private garden.

Everywhere you walk you find signs of the palace’s history. The Marsala family coat of arms – the lion – is to be found on the entrance wall, on the wallpaper in one of the rooms, as well as on furniture.

When you enter into the magnificent property, there is also parking space. On the wall, you find an inscription saying that king Vittorio Amedeo II stayed in the apartment on his visit to Termini Imerese on the 19th of April 1714.

Even if the palace is dating back to the 13th century, its documented history begins in 1670. An interesting fact is that the property has belonged to the same family since that day – the Marsala family.

The apartment has two parts. The more impressive part has large rooms, high ceilings, and it is here you find the frescoes, marble floors, and other impressive details. One of the rooms has oil paintings from late 1700 attached directly on the walls. This part of the property has mainly been used for representation. The other part is more recently renovated, and this is where the owners lived until a couple of years ago. This part could use some renovation, to get more of its historical feeling back.

Worth mentioning is also the property’s chapel, last used 14 years ago, at the current owner’s wedding. Its impressive doors immediately draw your attention to it.

Downstairs you find the vaults, today used as storage. The vaults are in connection with the garden, and could be converted into a spa area, a workshop, or could keep an indoor pool.

In the garden, you find a fountain in the center and some orange trees. It is a true oasis in the busy town’s life.

The location is as central as it gets, located in the higher and more fashionable parts of Termini Imerese. Here you have all you need just outside the front door.
